Lisa Grysen was appointed City Treasurer and Deputy Clerk in January 2001. She previously served as Deputy Treasurer and Accounts Payable/Payroll Clerk for the City. Lisa was the Deputy/Assistant Treasurer for Meridian Charter Township from 1995-2000. Lisa was appointed and sworn in as Clerk-Treasurer in March 2010 after the retirement of the previous City Clerk.

Lisa is a member of the Michigan Municipal Treasurers Association, the Municipal Treasurers Association of the United States and Canada the Michigan Municipal Finance Officers Association; the Government Finance Officers Association; the Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks, and International Institute of Municipal Clerks.

Lisa became a Certified Public Finance Administrator (CPFA) in 2004 and was re-certified in 2009. She also became a Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) in 2009.

Lisa received an Associate’s degree in Accounting from Davenport College of Business and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Northwood University.

The City Clerk's Duties include:

  • Clerk of the City Council
  • Chief elections and voter registration officer
  • The custodian of city records and the city seal
  • The City Clerk administers the oaths of office

The City Treasurer's Duties include:

  • The City Treasurer serves as the general accountant of the City and shall have custody of City funds, money, and securities and shall be responsible for the deposit and safekeeping of City funds, money, and securities.
  • The City Treasurer is responsible for the administration of the property tax collection system, balancing and disbursing tax collections, journal entries, balancing of the general ledger, reconciliation of all bank accounts and financial reports.
  • Clerk of the City Council
  • Chief elections and voter registration officer
  • The custodian of city records and the city seal.
  • The City Clerk administers the oaths of office.
